Inspired by fellow healthiness agent @bikerly and the humor of Indexed, I decided to do Weecap #11 pictorially. (not sure if that's a word but work with me!)
One Mile
Today is Day 77 of the 1-mile per day exercise streak for charity!
One Meal
Remember I wrote about seeing Forks Over Knives, well it's been two weeks now and for some reason after seeing that movie, my body has started rejecting meat.
Now, I am not trying to go vegan. I love hamburgers! My body for some reason though has decided on its own that it just doesn't want any kind of animal whatsoever. I start to feel nauseous whenever I've tried to eat some meat.
I ate some steak at a Foodie event last week, and later that evening let's just say it wasn't too pretty in the loo and I felt awful. Other people at the event ate the same steak (it was a sampler plate) and were fine so it wasn't a food poisoning kind of thing...nope it's just my body.
It's weird to me because the movie wasn't one of those that shocked or "scared me straight" so to speak. In fact, I was pretty mellow when I walked out of the theater. To use computer metaphor, it feels like someone simply deleted the lines of code in my eating software around anything from an animal, and added new code dictating, "eat more from plants."
I already avoid dairy and eggs because of food allergies, and the amount of meat products I do eat isn't high and I typically eat turkey, grass fed beef, bison, and seafood. I only buy my meats at Whole Foods because of their 5-step Animal Welfare Rating Standards. So by eliminating meat, I've essentially been eating a vegan diet.
Again, I don't know what has happened here with this spontaneous vegan diet, but that's what my body wants right now, so I shall honor its needs. I have been eating really well and have been discovering new dishes with plants, so that's been fun!
If something like this happened to any of you, the spontaneous rejection of a food you normally enjoy, please share! I'm curious what happened for others.
